To Follow

To Follow

“ Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”Luke 9:23 (NRSVCE)

It is in Christ Jesus, the Crucified One, we must abide. We must to look upon the Cross as not only atonement to God, but also a victory over the devil- not only a deliverance from the guilt, but also from the power of sin. We must gaze on Him on the cross as wholly ours, offering Himself to receive us into us closest union and fellowship, and make us partaker of the full power of His death to sin and the new life of victory to which it is but the gateway. We must yield ourselves to Him in a undivided surrender, with much pray and strong desire, imploring to be admitted into the closer fellowship and conformity of his death, of the Spirit which He died that death. ( for you and I)
On the Cross the Son of God enters into the fullest union with man—enters into the fullest experience of what it say to have become a son of man, a member of the race under the curse.
, When He found us there, it was the place of cursing: this he experienced for us, for” cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree” Galatians 3:13 He made it a place of blessing; this we experience , for Christ has delivered us from the curse, being made a curse for us. (v13)
When he came to be one with us , He could not avoid the Cross, for the curse always points to the cross as its end and fruit. And as we seek to be one with Him, we cannot avoid the Cross either, for nowhere but on the Cross are Life and Deliverance to be found. The only place He could be fully united to us. We must be fully crucified with Him abiding daily that we will taste the sweetness of His love, the power of His life, the completeness of His salvation.
Pray that His spirit will lead you into this blessed truth: the secrets of the Lord for all that fear Him.
The faith in the blood that pardons, and the life that renews can only reach its perfect growth as it abides beneath the Cross, and in living fellowship with Him seeking for perfect conformity with Christ Jesus the crucified.
Christ Jesus our crucified Redeemer, teach to not only to believe on You, but to abide in you, to take Your Cross not only as the ground of our pardon , but also as the law of our life. Teach us to love it not only because on you bore our curse, but because on it we enter into the closest fellowship with you, and are crucified with you. Teach as we yield ourselves wholly to be possessed of the Spirit in which You did bear the Cross, we will be made partakers of the power and the blessing to which the Cross alone gives access
(excerpts Andrew Murray “prayer” pages 60-62)

My strive to Abide there is no better, place then in presence !

John 15:3-5 (NRSVCE) ‘ You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
