Thought to Ponder: Faith Is!

Thought to Ponder: Faith Is!
Standing on scripture is a premise of kingdom living. Our faith depends on it. Our results in the kingdom depend on it.
Ephesians 1:11-14 (NKJV)11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who[a] is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
Ephesians 1:11-14 (MSG) 11-12 It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.13-14 It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.
Three truth premises are needed to live the kingdom in God’s grace.
1. The Word of God is true and righteous altogether. It does not need society to add or subtract according to political correctness.
2. The Word of God is breathed by the Holy Spirit. He works to convince, convict, and confront sin, wrong action and thinking, and bring it into the obedience of Christ.
3. There is no shadow of turning in God. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not conform to the world, but demands it conform to Him. He is the Creator and is not made of playdough.

If I don’t believe these truths, then on what do I stand? If the Word of God needs changing every new culture shift, then it is not truth. If it is not truth, I have nothing on which to stand save my own ideas. My personal ideas are shifting sand and may influence my income and friendships, but they are certainly of no eternal value and have no power to deliver me into an eternal glory in heaven with Jesus. Left to my own resourcefulness, I may attain measures of man’s success, but I certainly should not expect God to act on my behalf. Dependant on God’s promises revealed in His Word, the Bible, Have a sure confidence that overcomes the shaky untruths of societal comfort.

Take hold of this word today God’s word does not change or make excuses. You can bet your life on it. He lift you as you trust and cast you care on Him. Fear not mount up, God has a great ride ahead for you. (some text borrow from Pastor Larson)
